The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressive Congress in Edo took a new dimension on Friday with the suspension of the state party Secretary, Mr. Lawrence Okah.
The state party chairman, Anslem Ojezua, who confirmed it to our Correspondent, said Okah was suspended to allow the committee set up to investigate the allegation against him do its job.
Further on this issue, the Governor of the party has vouch to remove anyone who is doing everything possible to destroy Edo state APC. He said that trying to create a parallel faction as this is an intention to disunite members of the party in the state. He went further to assure the party loyalist that the suspension of the party’s state secretary is a measure agreed which is for administrative procedure trying to investigate the Secretary’s involvement in faction and disunity events among the party members in the state.
“Mr Aslem Ojezua who the party chairman made it known that the Secretary was just suspended to allow the committee set up to peruse the complaints against him. We have not expelled him, it is a mere suspension for investigation,” he said.
This came a day after Governor Obaseki vowed to flush out those he themed to be dissidents.
