Kogi Assembly swears in A New Deputy Governor

Barely a week after Mr Simon Achuba was impeached from office as deputy governor of Kogi state on October 18, following the conclusion of summary of the investigation by the Chief Judge of the state, Nadir Ajana and the emergent impeachment decision reached by the state House of Assembly, which saw Mr Achuba culpable of allegations of gross misconduct, the state now have a new Deputy Governor sworn in the person of Mr Edward Onoja.

Mr Onoja was sworn after he was thoroughly screened by the Kogi state House of Assembly,  at the assembly complex in Lokoja, today been October 21, 2019. He is to resume office immediately after Mr Simon Achuba vacated the office space of the Deputy Governor of the state, yesterday.

Until he was sworn in as the state’s Deputy Governor, he was the Chief of Staff to the Governor Yahaya Bello’s government.

Mr Edward Onoja, himself took to his twitter handle, Hon. Edward David Onoja @ed_onoja say that ”To the glory of God, I was screened and confirmed by the Kogi State House of Assembly today and subsequently sworn in as the Deputy Governor of Kogi State by the Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajana.
