US Deny Iran’s Foreign Minister Visa to Attend UN Meeting. Watch Video

Following the continuing rift and international conflict between the United States and Iran over the death of General Qasem Soleimani killed by the US in Baghdad last week, Washington has denied Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to attend the UN’s Security Council Meeting coming up on Thursday in New York.

According to the 1947 UN “headquarters agreement,” the United States is generally required to allow access to the United Nations for foreign diplomats. But Washington says it can deny visas for “security, terrorism and foreign policy” reasons.

The topic for discussion for the upcoming UN Security Council meeting is ‘upholding the Charter of the UN.’
