Meaning of South West ‘Amotekun’ security outfit logo unveiled

The newly created South West joint security outfit ‘Amotekun’ is set to commence work fully Today 9th of January 2020.

Ahead of the formal commencement of duties, the meaning of the logo of Amotekun has been unveiled.

The logo contains a Leopard which is called ‘Amotekun’ in the Yoruba language among others.

Amotekun is a joint establishment run by the 6 states in the South West which include Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo with it headquarters in Oyo State.

The Security Outfit is out to combat kidnapping among other crimes in the South West and will work alongside the Police, OPC and other security outfits.

There are reports that the South East is also clamouring for a similar regional security outfit.
