FFK Sunday Dare applaud creation of South West ‘Amotekun’

Former Minister of Aviation and Politician, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the creation of the South West security outfit, Amotekun, created to combat kidnapping among other crimes in the region.

Fani-Kayode stated that the the initiative is the best thing to have happened in the South West as he commended the efforts of the Governors from the region.

The former minister also urged Governors in the South South and South East to work out plans to establish theirs as well.

He said, “The Amotekun security outfit & initiative is the best thing that has happened to the SW states in the last 4 years. I commend the SW Governors & all those involved in its formation & establishment. I urge the Governors of SS & SE to do the same. Self-defence is the first law!”

In another statement, the Minister of Youth and Sport, Sunday Dare, who was present at the inauguration of the Amotekun security outfit in Oyo State also applauded the initiative.

He stressed that the sub-regional security initiative is complimentary to the work of the Police. He added that “Community Policing is globally accepted as effective.”

Amotekun security outfit is the initiative of six governors from the South West, the states involve include, Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun and Lagos State.
