MEET “NGG PERSONALITY OF THE WEEK” U.S BASED NIGERIAN GOSPEL SENSATION – NIKKY ARIYO OJO

Adenike Ariyo Ojo popularly known as Nikky Ariyo Ojo was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1968. She is a gifted singer and dancer based in Sugarland, Texas, USA.

She is the daughter of a retired customs and exercise civil servant, first born of the family of six, God’s servant, business-woman and from the Methodist background. Nikky Ariyo Ojo began music at an early age at the Methodist Church Nigeria.

She had her primary and secondary school days in Lagos before proceeding to the then Bendel State University now Delta State University when she bagged her first degree in Economics.

She went on to the University of Lagos where she acquired Masters in Educational Administration before migrating to London where she became a Mental health Nurse at the London South Bank University in the year 2005.

In 2012, She decided to go back to school for a Master Degree in Human Dynamics. Nikky whose musical gift became apparent at an early age and known to come from a musical lineage, fantastic song writer and recording artist whose work as a musician is largely self taught.

At the University, she was a member of the Purple Ray band.

In 1990, she founded the testimonies of excellence band in London which later became Testimony Crew band.

In 1993 Nikky recorded 2 singles “Deep from my heart” and “Motireni fehinti” and in 1996 released a debut album “His Promise, My Testimony”.

In 2005 while going through a terminal illness, she decided to thank God in Advance for healing by recording an alujo single which was titled “Ma Polongo”, a song that brought her into limelight in London.

She relocated to the United States of America in 2008 after going through and surviving cancer. Nikky is poised to testify of the goodness of God and to have an impact on the lives of people she is privilege to come across.

One of her latest release “Gbanjo” was released in February 2016 and has received worldwide acceptance from Nigerians and Africans at Home and in the Diaspora. The traditional gospel single was produced by “JoeyDrumz”, and it proclaims the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Nikky delivers her songs in the most anointed form, a sound that a number of her fans has over time affirmed to be not just edifying but inspirational.

One of the many reasons why her song stands out is because it is delivered with core messages of the Gospel as it also reminds fans in the diaspora about their rich heritage and culture.

Aside receiving uncountable awards and special recognitions locally and internationally for her music works and humanitarian services, Nikky Ariyo Ojo got Married to her lovely husband in 1996 whom she fondly calls Ololufe and the marriage is blessed with amazing kids.
