Since the closure of land borders, there have been widespread complaints of the locally produced rice being full of stone pebbles and this has left residents of the country with very limited choices.
However, the Nigeria Farmers Group and Cooperative Society (NFGCS), has stated the reason why this is so, citing the unavailability of a proper de-stoning machine.
This was made known by the national coordinator of the group, Mr. Tedheke Retson who spoke with journalists at the NFGCS farm, Gaate, Nasawara State, Information Nigeria reports.
He then called on the government and Nigerians to invest in the local fabrication of de-stoning machines so as to tackle the problem.
