CALF: A Literary Society in Nigeria Brings Arts and Literature To The Centre Stage (Photos)

CALF works towards bringing together enthusiasts of arts and literature i.e. (aspiring) authors/writers, actors, poets, artists/painters, book-lovers, intellectuals and generally anyone with interest in arts, under one roof, to share their personal works and those of other renowned artists around the world. This aims at appreciating art & literature and further widening creativity and knowledge.

This forum also aims to serve as a catalyst through which social issues and concerns (such as education, public health, climate & environmental security, law / policy, peers groups / family and other social responsibilities) are advocated for or criticized against (as the case maybe) through the art, to yield an enlightened and progressive community that prospers intellectually and otherwise.

The mechanism may range from poems to spoken words, short story to performing arts (poetry, drama) and even prose.

CALF has been holding sessions across various Literary spheres in Sokoto where it was founded. A host of talented poets and writers have graced CALF’s. They include award winning Writer and Poet, Godspower Oshodin and Maj. Yakubu Babangida.
