As Southwesterners in Nigeria reacts to AGF and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami’s statement declaring Southwest’s security outfit ‘Operation Amotekun’ illegal, and the heat it generates, one eminent individual from the region who has also made his disappointment of the AGF heard is Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state.
The governor voiced this on Channels TV this morning in an interview where he said Nigerian laws are not made in the office of Malami, Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
Mr. Akeredolu in an exclusive interview told Channels Television that it is clear laws are not made in the office of the AGF, but he can interpret the laws and advise the FG on matters relating to the law.
On Channel TV, he said, “One thing is clear, laws are not made in the office of the Attorney General; he can only interpret the laws and give positions of government on matters relating to the law.
“When he comes out with relevant portions of the law on the matter, we will consider it and respond adequately as the law stipulates.” The governor further buttressed.
