In order to resolve the crisis marauding the stronghold of APC in Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari is set to hold a very significant meeting with the party’s governors in its states at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
This meeting is coming after Senate President, Ahmad Lawan had on June 21 met with President Buhari over the APC crisis. Ahmad Lawan stated that the APC must deal with the challenges.
In attendance is the APC Governors Forum Chairman and Kebbi Governor, Atiku Bagudu, accompanied by Governors Simon Lalong of Plateau State and Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State.
The meeting would deliberate on security challenges in all APC ruling states and the ongoing crisis in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
That is, the crisis between party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole and incumbent governor of Edo state Godwin Obaseki. Godwin Obaseki had cross carpeted to PDP after his disqualification to contest the June 22 APC governorship Primary election ahead of the September governorship election in the state.
Crisis between Ondo governor Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and Deputy governor Agboola Ajayi over disagreement and which had led to the deputy governor Agboola to resign and cross carpeted to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in the state.
