Cross River Govt House Dirty, unhygienic as Cleaners protest NonPayment of 10 Months Salaries

The Governor’s office located at MM Way Calabar, according to reports stinks as cleaners assigned to empty bins were nowhere to be found on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, overfilled toilets left unattended for several weeks within the complex have resulted in the invasion of maggots while the stench from unwashed toilets has also taken over most passages.

This present predicament is as a result of the cleaners refusals to return to discharge their duties over non-payment of their ten (10) months outstanding salaries owed them by the Ben Ayade led government.

Reports have it that the cleaners whose take home pay ranges between N7,000 and N13,000 per month embarked on the sit-at-home strike since September 2019 to press home their demands and express their grudges.

Attempt by to get a government representative to speak failed as no one wants to be lured or make any statement which has not been signed by the governor, Ben Ayade.
