Following the spread of coronavirus epidemic in Africa, former Nigeria minister of finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala in a latest statement has reacted to the issue.
Okonjo Iweala in her statement raised the question of if Africa is preparing for the worst of the disease.
She advised African Government to focus on health crisis before it affect the economy.
She said, “Is Africa preparing urgently for the worst of #COVID19? We need to do so just in case! Focus on health crisis before it worsens the economic crisis. Ramp up on test kits, masks, ventilators, protective gear for health workers, practice social distancing and necessary hygiene now.”
At the moment, Nigeria has five new cases of coronavirus: four cases in Lagos state, one case in Ekiti.
