The letter of erstwhile Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Babatunde Fowler, lobbying President Muhammadu Buhari to be reappointed, has been exposed.
In the letter dated December 9th, 2019 and addressed to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, Fowler notified the President of the expiration of his tenure and listed his achievements as the FIRS boss.
“In view of the above, I wish to present myself for reappointment for a second term. This is consistent with the provisions of the FIRS Establishment Act 2007 and would grant me the opportunity to consolidate and build on the achievements we have recorded in the past 4 years.
“I would like to put on record my gratitude to Mr President for the opportunity to serve the nation. I am also thankful for your support during the course of the discharge of my duties,” the letter read in part.
