Min. of Transportation mandates contractors of Lagos/Ibadan rail to triple output

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi on Monday while checking the work being done on the Lagos/Ibadan rail project has mandated the contractors to complete at least of the tracks leading to Ebute Metta station before the ending of November.

He said, “I just mandated our Chinese contractors on the Lagos-Ibadan rail line to ensure completion of at least one of the tracks up to Ebute Metta station by the end of November. They have to triple their output to makeup for the rainy days.”

The reports also hinted that completion of the 8 minor stations along the Lagos-Ibadan rail line is also part of the mandate given to the contractors while they take a little more time to complete the 4 major stations.

It was also revealed that the Government intends to test run and give free rides at the end November so that people travelling along the route during the end of year holiday season could enjoy the trains.
