Minimum Wage Implementation: Cross River Gov. Set Up Negotiation Committee

The Governor of Cross River state, Professor Ben Ayade has on Friday inaugurated a state public service negotiating team for the implementation of the new minimum wage.

The inauguration took place at the Conference Room of the deputy governor, Calabar, and was fully anchored by the deputy governor Professor Ivara Esu as the governor was not on seat.

Professor Ben Ayade said he was okay with the implementation and full commitment to the payment of #30,000 for level 1-6. He said, the negotiation committee is to serve the purpose of negotiating the consequential adjustment from level 7-17 with the state’s labour bodies.

Commenting further, the governor urged the team to bear in mind the state’s financial reality.
