Napoli sack Carlo Ancelotti despite win against Genk

According to the latest report coming from the Italian Seria A, Napoli have sacked Carlo Ancelotti as their manager despite winning Genk on Tuesday night in the Uefa Champions League.

“Napoli has decided to relieve Carlo Ancelotti of his role as first team coach,” the club management said in a statement.

Although the Naples defeated Genk, which saw them finish second in Group E, with just a point behind English side Liverpool, however, the win was the first after nine winless games.

Also, there is an unrest in the dressing room and disagreement between the club, Ancelotti and the players.

The report has tipped former AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso is the favourite to become the new manager at Napoli.

Ancelotti has two 3 UCL trophy to his name, two he won with AC Milan and one with Real Madrid.
