New! FG and SW Governors reach agreement to create legal framework for Amotekun

According to the latest report, the federal government and Governors from the Southwest have reached an agreement that will see to the creation of a legal framework to legalise the establishment of the newly created regional security outfit, Operation Amotekun.

The report disclosed that the agreement was reached following a closed door meeting chaired by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

According to the reports, the meeting took place immediately after the expanded National Economic Council meeting on Thursday.

In attendance at the meeting was the minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who declared Operation Amotekun illegal and the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
