New Minimum Wage Implementation: Ngige confirms workers already getting N30,000

Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, has confirmed that juniors workers employed by the Federal Government, have started receiving the N30,000 minimum wage.

Ngige stated this while speaking in Enugu over the weekend.

He disclosed that the payment to levels 1 to 6 commenced last month.

The minister further made it clear that the federal government have crossed the Rubicon, as there is a salary movement upward for level 1-6 from the usual #18,000 to #30,000. He further made it clear that, the federal government is doing everything possible under its jurisdiction to reach an agreement on the salary increase for level 7-17 which is the senior levels in the public and civil service. He further disclosed it that sooner enough that agreement would be reached.
