Presidency Debunks Anticipated Monday Presidential Broadcast on COVID-19 Lockdown

The Presidency through Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity has debunked reports that President Muhammadu Buhari would be addressing the nation today to give updates on the COVID-19 pandemic, and also to inform Nigerians if he will further ease the lockdown or declare a total lockdown.

Remember that, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani, had disclosed that Buhari will speak to Nigerians today, while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

On Monday, Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity informed Nigerians to forget about any planned national broadcast, that President Muhammadu Buhari will not address Nigerians today.

Adesina further said that, whatever update that will be available would be conveyed by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) during its usual briefings.

This statement was released through the Special Adviser’s verified twitter handle: Femi Adesina@FemAdesina;
