Nigerian veteran singer, Tony Tetuila has revealed himself and q Ghanian singer, Tic have sued the duo of Wizkid and DJ Tunez for infringement of property in a Federal Court in Lagos State.
The singer disclosed that Wizkid and Tunez infringed on the copyright of their song ‘Fefe N’ efe’ in their joint track released in May 2019 dubbed ‘Gbese.’
Tony Tetuila wrote, “Yes, it is true that myself and Tic from Ghana are both suing Wizkid and DJ Tunez at the Nigerian Federal High Court for violating our intellectual property rights from our song Fefe N’ efe. Our lawyers have advised us not to say more than that.”
According to Tetuila, he stated that he is suing Wizkid and Tunez for using the phrase “Fefe N’ efe na the beauty of a woman” purportedly popularized in Tac and Tetuila’s song dubbed ‘Fefe N’efe’.
Further report hinted that Tony is demanding for 35 percent of both the digital sales and royalties received from the song.
Tony Tetuila was part of the Remedies crew which popular in the early 2000, his most popular song was ‘My Car’ where he made use of the name of former Lagos State Governor and now National leader of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
